The Zenith Jubelieth Club, Laban has announced the results of the Krishna Das Paul Choudhury memorial art competition held on June 26. The prizes will be distributed to the winners at a function to be held on the club premises on July 30 at 5pm.

Condolence

The members of the Meghalaya Power Worker’s Union in a meeting held on July 26 condoled the demise of Biren Dutta who passed away on July 25 night. Dutta was a former president of the Union. The Laitumkhrah Bengali Secondary School has also condoled the demise of Dutta. Dutta was the president of the school’s managing committee.

Workshop

FICCI FLO is organising a two-day workshop on the topic “Unlocking Your Potential- Sky is the Limit” at Shillong Club from 10am. DGP Kuldip Krishan (prisons) will inaugurate the workshop.

Arena Week

The Arena Multimedia, Shillong will organise the “Arena Week 2011” on the occasion of their 12 years of animation in Shillong at Arena Animation complex, Laitumkhrah on July 29. The function will be attended by Meghalaya IT Minister, AL Hek.

Inauguration

The Orchid Restaurant at Umran, Ri-Bhoi district will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma at 4.30pm on July 29.

CPI meet

The Meghalaya State Council of CPI has decided to hold a state-level conference in the first week of December which will be attended by the central Leadership of the party. In a meeting held on July 26 the party expressed concern on the reported spurt of population at certain pockets of the state particularly in Garo Hills.

Annual meet

The annual general meeting of Laban Assamese Namghar will be held on July 31 on the namghar premises at 3pm. The meeting will form a new executive committee.
