Shillong: After allegations of two non-tribals being allowed to vote in the election of the Sirdar of Raid Shabong in Pynursla, East Khasi Hills district recently, the FLJGP Ri-War circle has yet again alleged that another non-tribal voted in the same election.

In a statement, the FKJGP has alleged that the name of the non-tribal, Lawren Lama, appeared in the Pynter polling station.

The Federation last week had met the KHADC Executive Member (EM), in-charge Elaka, Lamphrang Blah, who promised that he would summon the chairman of the election committee who had overseen the recent election of the Sirdar of Raid Shabong.

The FKJGP, Ri-War circle has urged the KHADC to conduct a re-poll in the Raid Shabong due to the “irregularities” in the election process.

Earlier, the Federation had alleged that two non-tribals — Promison Rai and Arun Dey — were allowed to vote in the election for the Sirdar of Raid Shabong and also that around 50 locals were deprived from taking part in the election.
