Kohima: Two journalists of a leading English daily of Nagaland were looted by gunmen at Dimapur on Saturday night.

Official said some unidentified armed miscreants on a bike, looted cash and valuables after waylaying two journalists of Nagaland Post at around 2200 hours when the newsmen were returning to their home.

The miscreants, claiming to be from ‘Unification group’ told the journalists that the situation was bad and they were ‘duty bound’ to ask for their identity cards.

When the journalists disclosed they were returning from work, the miscreants, one whose head was covered with white cloth, retorted by asking which faction they were from and why were they roaming around at night.

Under the pretext of frisking, the miscreants rummaged their wallets, handbag and took away all cash and valuables, including mobile phones at gunpoint.

A complaint has been lodged with the police for necessary action, sources added. (UNI)
