Kohima: Nagaland Minister for School Education Nyiewang Konyak has stated that students of on Sunday have great responsibility, while impressing that every student should not only aim for an academic career, but also study the present problems prevailing in in the state.

Addressing the 50th Fresher Day Celebration of Kohima Science College here on Saturday, the minister expressed concern over the prevailing unhealthy situation in the state and appealed to the students to bring a change in the Naga society with their improved education and acquired knowledge.

”We have political problem, socio-economic problem, immoral activities, cheating and stealing, deceiving and killing, dishonesty, self love and corruption of high proportions which have penetrated even into the far flung villages in our land and much more.”

Nyewang described the students as the new young and dynamic generation, who has been experiencing all that is happening around us.

To rebuild the society, he said, ”I see in you, strength, conviction, commitment and determination.”

Reasoning that they cannot change every individual, he however said they can contribute their knowledge and wisdom to fight the evils prevailing in our land on Sunday. (UNI)
