SHILLONG: Newly inducted ‘twelfth man’ in the State Cabinet, Prestone Tynsong, who was sworn in on Tuesday, has been handed over charges of the Forest and Environment, Border Area Development (BAD) and Sericulture and Weaving departments.

Confirming this, Chief Secretary WMS Pariat said a notification to this effect was issued on Wednesday.

When contacted Tynsong maintained that he was not aware of the allotment of the three departments as he was yet to receive any official notification in this connection.

He, however, added, “I don’t mind taking over charges of these portfolios.”

It may be added that Tynsong was earlier the PHE and GAD Minister before he was dropped by Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma from the Cabinet.
