TURA: The Garo Graduates’ Union (GGU) has pointed out that the State Education department lacks interest in proper administration and functioning of educational institutions since it has failed to appoint full-fledged head of institutions in Garo Hills. The GGU has written to Education Minister Dr RC Laloo highlighting that there are as many as thirteen major govt-run educational institutions functioning without any administrator.

There is no head of institution in the offices of the DI of Schools in Tura and Baghmara, besides, the post of Vice-Principal of Tura Govt College is vacant too, the Union mentioned.

The posts of principal for Dalu Govt HSS, Dadenggre HSS, Govt Girls HSS, Rongrenggre HSS, Resubelpara HSS, United Kharkutta HSS, BTC- Tura, DIET- Tura, DIET-Resubelpara, and BTC-Resubelpara remain vacant with no government approval for appointment till date.

The Union has also expressed concern over the dismal results in this year’s SSLC and HSSLC examinations conducted by MBoSE.
