SHILLONG: Deputy Chief Minister In-charge of Sports and Youth Affairs, Bindo M Lanong, has clarified that he has not held any discussion with the present GOC of 101 Area, Lieutenant General VK Narula, on using the Garrison Ground for the upcoming Independence Day celebration. “It is not possible for me to hold any discussion with the present GOC of 101 Area since he is new to the post,” Lanong clarified on Friday. He, however, claimed that he had held discussion on certain issues with the previous GOC of 101 Area but the discussion did not focus on the issue of Garrison Ground.
