Nagaland CM to meet PC today
Kohima: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, currently in New Delhi to discuss the issue of Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation’s demand for a separate state, will meet Home Minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday. Nagaland Chief Minister’s Press Secretary Abu Metha informed from Delhi that Rio would meet Chidambaram on Tuesday to present the views of the state to the Centre concerning the demand of ‘Frontier Nagaland’ by the ENPO. Meeting with Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has yet to be confirmed officially, but is on the itinerary, Metha said. The Centre had sought the opinion of the Nagaland Cabinet, the chief minister and his colleagues to express the stance of the state. (UNI)
New Information Officer in Mizoram
Aizawl: Lal M. Dingliana Sailo, an Indian Foreign Service Officer was on Monday sworn-in as the second State Chief Information Commissioner by Mizoram governor Lt General M M Lakhera at Raj Bhavan here. Born in 1952, Sailo joined the IFS in 1974 and worked in Russia, Germany, Afghanistan, Australia, Bulgaria, Ireland and Slovakia. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by politicians and top officials including Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla, Information Minister Zodintluanga and opposition leader Dr R. Lalthangliana. (PTI)
CRPF jawan from Manipur shoots self
Jamshedpur: A CRPF jawan hailing from manipur on Monday allegedly shot himself dead at his camp at Dugni, around 30 km from here, in Saraikela-Kharswan district in Jharkhand. T Vantum the Commandant of 196 Battalion, Ramesh Pandey said. He was rushed to MGM hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. (PTI)
