TURA: The Indigenous Citizens forum of Simsanggre (ICFS) have written to Chief Minister, Dr Mukul Sangma, opposing the use of the Williamnagar indoor stadium to house central and state paramilitary force personnel deployed in East Garo Hills.

The Forum highlighted the complaints made by the local population over the use of the sports complex to house security forces and thereby depriving the youth of the town to utilize the place for sports activities. They further mentioned that the security force personnel had even dug up the adjoining football field to install makeshift pit latrines which has led to unhygienic condition of the entire complex.

The forum has urged upon the authorities to remove the force at the earliest and restore the complex to its previous glory in the interest of the sports loving people of East Garo Hills.
