JOWAI: Beleaguered Hambertus Nongtdu on Wednesday suffered another jolt when one of his ardent supporters Laitsing Shylla, an MDC from Ummulong, switched allegiance to join Lamdibok Sumer camp.
Announcing this here, Shylla said he joined Lamdibok camp hoping that this group under the leadership of Sumer would be able to prove majority to pave way for lifting of the Administrative Rules in JHADC.
Before Shylla, four other MDCs, who were earlier with Nongtdu, joined Lamdibok camp.
Sumer now has the strength of 17 MDCs including UDP MDC from Khliehriat, Welcome Dkhar.
Meanwhile, Sumer told The Shillong Times that his group would meet the MPCC leaders and the concerned minister to discuss formation of a new Executive Committee.
Nongtdu, meanwhile, made it clear that he would not surrender even if he was left alone.
“I am the CPP leader and the official candidate for the post of CEM in JHADC and unless the MPCC asks me to give up, I will go ahead”, Nongtdu said.
