HYDERABAD: YSR Congress party chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy Wednesday indirectly accused the Congress party of pursuing politics of vendetta.

Reacting to a high court order directing a Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) probe into his alleged illegal assets, the MP from Kadapa said he was being targeted for leaving the Congress party.

“I came out Congress party on Nov 29 and on Dec 29 the income tax department served a notice.

They did not satisfy with that and through minister Shankar Rao, they filed a case in the court,” Jagan told reporters at Kadapa on Wednesday nght.

The son of late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy alleged that both Congress and Telugu Desam Party colluded to target him by filing the cases.

“When I left Congress party, I fully knew there will hardships and losses. I only want to say there is a god. He is watching and I have full faith that justice will be done,” he said.

Leaders of Jagan’s party termed the legal cases a deep-rooted political conspiracy against him. “Unable to fight him politically and digest his massive popularity, ruling and opposition parties have joined hands to target him,” said Shoba Nagi Reddy, a leader of YSR Congress party.

She, however, said the court order was not a setback to Jagan as a CBI probe would give an opportunity to him to prove that he is innocent.(IANS)
