IT Summit

The Information Technology Department, Government of Meghalaya in association with Meghalaya Information Technology Society will organise an IT Summit – Meghabytes 2011 on September 8th and 9th at St Anthony’s College Auditorium.

Children’s home

Rev. D.S Sohkhlet, moderator, Khasi jaintia Presbyterian Synod Sepngi, inaugarated Rev. S. Wollington Children’s Home , Nongpyndeng in Nongstoin on Thursday. The children’s home has been run and managed by the KJP Synod Sepngi and attributed to (Late) Rev. S. Wollington, the first KJP pastor.

Felicitation

The Nongstoin College on Thursday felicitated three of its students who were listed among top ten in the merit list of NEHU and Meghalaya Board Examination 2011. The students are Successful Nongrem 3rd B.A (Khasi H), Lestarful Nongsiej 6th BA (Khasi H) and Prudent Nongbsaw , 6th Class-XII (Arts).

Prohibition

The District Magistrate, Jaintia Hills District has prohibited the removal and collection of sands, stones etc from the river beds and river banks of Myntdu River with immediate effect without prior permission from concerned authority.

Office bearers

The Seng Samla Laban elected new office bearers with effect from July 30 wherein Stalin Nongsiej was elected the president, John Kharphuli vice president, Anthony Marwein gen secy among others.

Raffle draw

The Raffle and Fete Com. of Seng-Khasi (Kmie) will draw its raffle on Aug 13 at Seng khasi Hall, Mawkhar.
