Dwar Jingkyrmen fetes 8 traffic cops

 SHILLONG: In appreciation of their service to the people of the city, the Dwar Jingkyrmen, School for Children in Need of Special Education on Friday felicitated eight Shillong Traffic Police (STP) personnel.

Those felicitated include seven constables and one Sub Inspector of the Laitumkhrah Traffic branch.

They are L Basumatary, G Boro, B Adhikari, B Malai, W Nongkhlaw, J Khongji, LG Momin (all constables) and Sub Inspector WR Marak.

These police personnel take extra care when classes at Dwar Jingkyrmen get over. They, in fact, on numerous occasions personally held hands of these kids and help them cross the road. The traffic cops were also touched by the gesture and said it was for the first time in the 26-year-old history of STP that such an appreciation was given to them.
