Ground No.2 of Polo ready to host I-Day programme

 SHILLONG: The administration has completed all preparations to celebrate Independence Day at Ground No.2 of Polo in city.

Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma will unfurl the national flag here.

According to official sources, seating arrangements for public have been made on the southern side of Ground No.2 beyond the goal post alongside Wahumkhrah.

The administration has requested public to enter through the green gate directly opposite the entrance to the Polo parking lot located just behind the western side of the first ground and proceed on foot towards the 2nd Ground.

Due to space constraints, car parking facilities at Ground No. 2 will be available only for the VVIPs, while other dignitaries and officials are requested to alight at the entrance to the approach road to Ground No.2. General public will have to park their vehicles at the Polo parking lot.

Meanwhile, buses have also been arranged for the people to attend the celebrations.

The routes are are Happy Valley via Madanrting, Non-gthymmai, St.Edmund’s, Dhankheti and Barik, IGP to Polo, Rynjah via Pohkseh, Nongrim Hills, Laitumkhrah, IGP to Polo Ground, Mawlai Thangkhiew Petrol Pump via Mawdatbaki, Mawlai Mawroh, Golflink to Polo Ground.
