With a view to make farmers aware about the importance of Kisan Credit Card scheme, an awareness programme was held on Friday at Mawkyrwat where around 87 farmers from across the Mawkyrwat participated the meeting.
Teej Fest
Teej Festival, which got underway on August 1 at Aurobindo Institute of Indian Cultural Society, Shillong, will conclude on August 28. The festival is being organized by Goreto Socio-Cultural & Welfare Society, Lower Jail Road, Polo.

General meet
The general meeting of the Meghalaya Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan School Association (MSSASA) will be held at Asom Krishti Hall, Dhankheti on Saturday at 1.30 pm. The meeting would discuss on various problems faced by the teachers working in the SSA schools, MSSASA president HM Marbaniang said in a statement.
Death anniv
The inaugural function of the 25th death anniversary of Late Fr V Albera will be held on August 14. The celebration will begin with a holly mass at St Paul Parish Church, Lai Mer in Upper Shillong at 10 am.

The Deputy Commissioner of Jaintia Hills District has granted an exgratia of Rs.10, 000 to the family of one Levis Passah, affected by lightning on April 13 this year.
Death condoled
The Madhabdev Namghar Committee Asom Kristi Kendra in a meeting held on August 11 condoled the death of Praneswar Kalita and Probin Borthakur. Both were active members of the Namghar committee.
Legal literacy
The additional Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi district has informed that the office of the Deputy Commissioner Ri Bhoi along with Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority will organise a legal literacy-cum-awareness campaign for women and children at Dorbar Hall, Pahamsyiem Nongpoh on August 18.
