Rowell Lyngdoh’s assurance to KSU

 SHILLONG: Deputy Chief Minister in charge Health and Family Welfare Rowell Lyngdoh has assured a KSU delegation that all measures would be taken to see that TB patients, doctors and staff of the Reid Chest Hospital are not affected by the dismantling of the hospital.

The Reid Chest Hospital will be dismantled to set up the Shillong Medical College in the same plot of land.

A KSU delegation met him here on Thursday.

“We have been assured by the Deputy Chief Minister that the TB patients and the hospital staff would not suffer on account of the dismantling of the hospital,” KSU president Samuel Jyrwa told reporters after the meeting. In the memorandum , the KSU welcomed the decision of the Government to set up a medical college.
