Thug held for opening fake FB account of Assam minister

Guwahati: Assam Police crime branch on Thursday arrested a youth from Golaghat district for allegedly opening a fake account on social networking site ‘Facebook’ in the name of state PWD minister Ajanta Neog.

Reports from Golaghat said that the CID arrested the youth, Nekibur Rahman, from Merapani area of the district on Thursday morning.

Ms Neog had lodged a complaint with the CID after it was brought to her notice that a Facebook account in her name was active.

The CID traced the account with the help of the email address provided to open it and nabbed Nekibur.

Nekibur runs a small business in Merapani.

The CID is interrogating Nekibur to extract further details from him. (UNI)
