Mizoram Hindi teachers no to Roman scripts
AIZAWL:The Mizoram Middle School Hindi Teachers’ Association on Friday strongly objected to the inclusion of Roman scripts in the Hindi text books for class V and X in Mizoram schools, being prepared by the Mizoram Board of School Education.The Hindi teachers said in a press statement Roman scripts were being included in the text books to make it easier for the students to learn the pronunciation. However, the Hindi teachers termed this method as a ‘defilement’ of the beautiful Indian national language.”(UNI)
KCP militant held
IMPHAL: Troops of Assam Rifles (AR) on Friday arrested a cadre of Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP City Meitei) at Thamnapokpi, Imphal East.AR sources said troops of Assam Rifles launched a search operation and apprehended the militant identified as Naorem Bimol Singh(22).He was handed over to Lamlai Police Station, AR sources added. ITBP urged to be more vigilant
ITANAGAR:An Arunachal Pradesh Minister has asked ITBP personnel to remain more vigilant along the Sino-Indian border in view of “frequent” statements by Beijing claiming the state to be its integral part. “The frequent statements of Chinese government claiming Arunachal as their integral part sound us to be more alert,” state Home Minister Takar Marde said at the passing out parade of the second batch of 419 ITBP jawans at Kimin on Thursday , according to a statement here.He said the state government would defeat designs of divisive forces with all its might and sought all possible help from the Indo Tibetan Border Police in its fight against extremists.(PTI)
Car lifter apprehended
KOHIMA: A car lifter has been apprehended by the Kohima police.The accused was identified as one Lamabam Naobi Singh (29), Nagamapal Kangjabi village under Police Station of Imphal West, police said.The counterparts in Assam and Meghalaya had already been alerted about the arrest, the police added. Meanwhile, a Meghalaya police special team would be arriving here as two separate cases of car lifting were pending against the arrested persons at Shillong, police said.(UNI)
