Responding to the writ, Justice Mrs Anima Hazarika said that it becomes obligatory on the part of institutions under the Central Board of Secondary Education to offer pay and other applicable allowances as per the state or central government scales to employees.

According to an statement issued by the employees of the Assam Rifles Public School here on Friday, Justice Hazarika observed that the school authorities should examine the claims of the petitioners and redress their grievances in as much as on their promise to implement the provision of clause 3 (v) of the CBSE bye-laws.

The employees have also alleged that the school authorities, which is a residential school affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi, have been issuing advertisements for employment into various posts of this school with a promise of offering pay and allowances at par with that of the Central Government but the authority failed to live up to the expectations causing breach of contracts with the employees.
