Agartala: Terming the draft Lok Pal Bill which was placed before the Parliament last week as tooth and nail less, CPM state unit on Saturday strongly advocated for an effective Lok Pal Bill to stop the corrupt practices at all levels.

Giving full support to the nine-party’s proposed rally seeking an effective Lok Pal Bill in Delhi on August 23, the CPM state unit will also organize a rally opposing the draft Bill.

Talking to media here, CPM state secretary Bijan Dhar said that the draft Lok Pal Bill which was sent to Standing Committee is nothing but an ineffective draft.

“The Prime Minister must come under the purview of the Lok Pal Bill and absolute power to pass the Bill lies with the Parliament”, he said.

Asserting that Anna Hazare has become a crusader against corruption, the veteran Marxist leader said, though the party has ideologically difference with Anna he had got overwhelming support from the public.

He also demanded there must be a separate commission for trying the corrupt Judges under the Lok Pal Bill.

Dhar also strongly demanded a blanket ban on using black money in the run up to the elections.
