 SHILLONG: The 1st North East India World Photography Day Exhibition is being held in the city to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Riti Academy of Visual Arts. The exhibition comprised of creative and antique photographs collected from local professional and amateur photographers and contributed by Raj Bhavan.

 The exhibition was graced by internationally renowned sculptor Prithpal Singh Sehdave as chief guest and Fr John D Jayakumar as guest of honour.

In his inaugural address Sehdavelauded the effort of Riti Academy of visual arts and suggested for frequent artistic bombardment in the city to awaken the people and inculcate a sense of appreciation for pure arts.

The valedictory function was graced by Regional Officers, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Shillong N Munish Singh, and Anurag Singh, ICCR, Vanarasi.

Munish Singh appreciated the endeavour of Riti Academy and committed to support all the activities of the 20th anniversary celebration.

Later, he distributed the certificate and cash awards to the winners of the Photography Competition.

 Mr Anurag Singh expressed his pleasure for the quality works and offer for holding the exhibition at Vanarasi and later he distributed the certificates to the artist participants of the Thoh Shun Art Camp.
