Kohima: The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) programme for awarding the best Village Vision Cell (VVC) on the theme ‘Back to the Roots’ is scheduled to be held in the Exit Conference in September.

Official sources said here on Monday the DPDB had earlier earmarked an amount of Rs 3 lakh during 2010-11 under Common Pool for the purpose.

The award is to be given to the best VVC with an amount for each administrative circle. Each circle has to constitute a committee for selection of the best Vision Cell and recommend it to DPDB for further approval.

Since the villages in six administrative circles vary in number, it was decided that the award would be given depending upon the strength of villages. (UNI)
