 NONGSTOIN: The Bethany Society Mawkyrwat WKHD in collaboration with Shishu Sarothi Disability Law Unit North East and Centre for Rehabilitation Training for multiple Disabilities organized one day seminar on National Handicapped Finance Development Corporation (NHFDC) at Mawkyrwat Block Development Auditorium on Saturday which was attended by more than 50 persons with disabilities.

Assistant General Manager Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank (MCAB) Manik. Barbhuiya speaking on the occasion said that the National Handicapped Financial Development Corporation (NHFDC) set up by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment Government of India in January 1997 and was registered under section 25of the Companies Act,1956 .

The Program Coordinator of Bethany Society Wellbok Lyngdoh highlighted the main objectives of the seminar which includes promoting economic development activities and self employment ventures for the benefit of persons with disabilities, extending loans to them for up gradation of their entrepreneurship skill for proper efficient management of self ventures, assisting self-employed individuals with disabilities in marketing their finished products and enabling persons with disabilities to attain and maintain maximum independence.
