Gangtok: A farmer in Sikkim is on a fast for the last three-days without even taking water to express support to Anna Hazare’s fast for a strong Lokpal.

Yong Tshering Lepcha, a farmer from Nimtar in East Sikkim started his fast near the Paljor stadium fish pond on Saturday.

“I would not take any water also for the first three days of my fast. After three days I would take water but plan to fast as long as Anna observes,” the 42-year old farmer said.

“Being a progressive farmer, I want to appeal to all people in the state to support Anna Hazare in whatever capacity they can,” he said, while also welcoming expressions of support for his initiative as well.

Meanwhile, Janswayam Sewa Sangathan (People’s Volunteer Cell) announced plans to take out a rally from the Deorali Ropeway Complex to Zero Point tomorrow in support of Anna Hazare and his cause here in Gangtok. (PTI)
