Guwahati: Three ULFA linkmen were arrested from Sonitpur and North Lakhimpur districts of Assam on Tuesday when they were transferring funds for the proscribed outfit.

Police said Uddipan Chetia alias Prakash Chetia and Pabitra Phukan were arrested by Biswanath police in Sonitpur while they were on way from Narayanpur in Lakhimpur district to Tinsukia district.

An amount of Rs 4.15 lakh was recovered from them. The money was handed to the duo by one Madhu Satula in Narayanpur on the direction of ULFA ‘commander’ Rajeev Das. The money was meant for the wife of another ULFA leader Jeevan Moran of Tinsukia. Satula has also been arrested from Naraynapur. (UNI)
