Disability assessment camp organised

 NONGSTOIN: The Beth-any Society of Mawkyrwat, West Khasi Hills in collaboration with the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) and the office of Mawkyrwat Community &Rural Development Block, on Thursday organised a disability assessment camp in Mawkyrwat.

More than 100 people with disability were examined by the Doctors.

OT Lyngwa, Block Officer and Dr.W.L.Narry, Health Officer of Mawkyrwat CHC attended the programme.

Mrs. MM Phanwar, Assistant Project Officer District Rural Development Agency, Nongstoin said the purpose of this initiative was to provide certificate so that people with disability could avail the benefits of different Central Government-sponsored schemes like Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Widows Scheme , Indira Gandhi National Old Aid Pension Scheme, National Family Benefit Scheme etc.

Wellbok Lyngdoh, Project Coordinator Bethany Society, also spoke on the occasion.

Meeting:RS Kharde-wsaw, Secretary and Convener of Meghalaya Ahdoc Grant Lower Primary Schools Association (MAGLSA) has convened a meeting of the organization on August 27 at Community Hall, Riatsamthiah, Shillong.
