Nagaland MGNREGA launches computer centre

Kohima: Nagaland Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act-MIS Computer Training Centre and training programme on MGNREGA-MIS Data Entry, the first of its kind, was inaugurated on Thursday by Nagaland Parliamentary Secretary Rural Development Pangnyu Phom.

Speaking as the Chief Guest Mr Phom said keeping proper records and feeding the government with correct data and information are vital for the Rural Department.

He expressed confidence that with the launch of MIS Computer Training Centre and website will make easier for the department to submit MIS data to the centre on time, which will help in releasing funds from the Centre on time. He said many national flagship programmes like the MGNR-EGA, Indira Awas Yojana, Swarnajayanti Gram Swaroz-gar Yojana and many others are being implemented by the Department. Commissioner and Secretary of Nagaland Rural Development V. Sakhrie said the launching of website is one of the most effective means of showing transparency and accountability in implementation of central as well as State programmes.

Director Rural Development Metsubo Jamir briefing on the Nagaland MIS website said that the site is a public domain which contains all details of Department’s flagship programme implementation. (UNI)
