AASU rallies in support of Anna

Guwahati: The All Assam Students Union on Saturday staged a demonstration in Assam’s main city Guwahati in support of Gandhian Anna Hazare and demanding a strong Jan Lokpal Bill. Thousands of people from various walks of life, including women and student groups, participated in a protest march that was taken out through the streets of the city. Artists, litterateurs and eminent citizens also participated in the protest march. Slogans against the government and in support of Anna and his team for a stronger Jan Lokpal Bill were raised by the protestors. Meanwhile, the relay hunger strike by ‘India Against Corruption’ at Dighalipukhuri area of the city entered its 12th day ton Saturday. (UNI)
