AMWJU opposes threat to journalists

Imphal: The All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWHU) on Monday strongly opposed threats allegedly given to two journalists by unknown persons here. According to the union, the editor of an English daily was allegedly threatened for not publishing a news item. In another incident, a reporter of a local TV network was also threatened for a news relating to findings of a RTI report. AMWJU said such things threatened the free functioning of the media. (UNI)
