JSU bandh affects life

 JOWAI: Normal life was affected during the 24-hour Jaintia Hills district bandh called by the Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU), which began on Monday evening. Several untoward incidents like pelting of stones, burning of tyres, felling of trees to block vehicular movement were reported from several parts of the district.

The JSU called the bandh in protest against the government’s failure to fulfill its several demands including setting up of MBoSE cellin the district.

The bandh supporters burnt tyres in Mooralong, Umlidoh, Phramer. The bandh will end at 7pm on Tuesday.
