Kohima: The Nagaland Congress asked the Naga Peoples Front-led Government to pass a resolution in the coming session of the Assembly for appointment of a Lokayukta in the state.

The Nagaland Pradesh. Congress Committee (NPCC) media cell in a press release issued here today said the pathetic condition of roads in the state were a reflection of NPF’s mis-governance and corruption.

Meanwhile, the NPF Press Bureau said whether the state Congress party was aware of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre being embroiled in multi crore corruption scams and how people from all walks of life from across India had joined Anna Hazare in his demand for Jan Lokpal Bill for a corruption-free India.

Seeking to corner the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland Government over the comment made by the ruling NPF Press Bureau on Anna Hazare’s Jan Lokpal Bill, the NPCC retorted, “Who is not aware of Anna Hazare’s campaign for Jan Lokpal Bill for a corruption free India? It is amusing when the NPF Press Bureau poses itself as ”Holier than Thou Art” on all issues as if others are blind.

If the NPF Government is serious in welcoming the Bill, let it pass a resolution in the coming session of the Assembly for appointment of a Lokayukta (Ombudsman). Else, its applause to Anna Hazare holds no water.” (UNI)
