SHILLONG:The local residents of Nongtalang, Jaintia Hills have expressed disappointment over the services provided by the Mobile Company, Aircel saying for the last three months, there has been complete failures in the network creating a lot of problem to the people especially during emergencies.

It may be mentioned that majority of the people living in this village use Aircel as it is the only service available here. “The people face a lot of problem with complete failure of the network and we wonder what the company is doing all this while”, general secretary of Nongtalang unit, L Pohshna told reporters on Wednesday.

The association also wanted a clear cut answer from the concerned authority of the Aircel telecom company regarding the sudden breakdown in the network for the last three month while mentioning that till date the customers have not received any intimation from the company regarding this prolonged network failure.

“It seems that the company is not taking any initiative to improve the services in this area and if it intended to suspend the service, it should issue a public notice so that the people will understand”, said Pohshna while asking the company to resume services as soon as possible for the ease of the people of this area.
