JCMRBU to stage dharna in protest against pending demands

 SHILLONG: The Joint Council of Meghalaya Rural Bank Unions (JCMRBU) will stage a day long dharna in front of the head office of Meghalaya Rural Bank, Khyndai Lad at the call of the All India Regional Rural Bank Employees Association (AIRRBEA) on September 6.

The decision was taken after several demands made by the AIRRBEA are still pending for a considerably long time in the all Regional Rural Bank.

The association has been continuously protesting and demanding the redressal of all the issues.

According to a statement issued here on Friday, JCMRBU general secretary, Tom B Chettry mentioned that the dharna will be staged on the issues which includes—parity of superannuation benefits, other allowances, benefits, service conditions, regularization, absorption, promotion of daily-rated, part-time, casual workmen, messengers, sweepers and workers, representation of workman, officers in the board of management of RRBs.

“As there has not been any effective progress towards settlement of the issues, AIRRBEA has been left with no alternative to giving the call for Dharna ”, stated the release.
