Patna: The JD (U) on Saturday alleged that RJD supremo Lalu Prasad was shedding crocodile tears for the cause of minorities who were allegedly used by him merely as vote bank.

State spokesman of the party Sanjay Singh told reporters here that the proposed protest march to Forbesganj by the RJD, under the leadership of Mr Prasad, was yet another attempt by him to fool the minorities.

”The Nitish Kumar Government has already ordered a judicial inquiry into the alleged police access at Bhajanpura village in Forbesganj during the firing about two months back to control an unruly mob there,” Mr Singh said, adding that lawful action would be taken against the culprits on the basis of report of the judicial commission in the Forbesganj police firing case.

The JD(U) leader said that if Mr Prasad was so sensitive to the alleged police atrocities against the minorities, he should have visited the spot much earlier.

It was interesting to note that without bothering for the minorities, Mr Prasad was busy in lobbying in New Delhi to become minister in the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre, he said, adding that after ‘failure’ in his mission to get the cabinet berth, Mr Prasad had resorted to his old tactics to fan the communal sentiments by raising the issue of alleged police atrocities against minorities.

Mr Singh said people had understood the game plan of Mr Prasad and they would no longer fall in his trap.

The Nitish Kumar Government opened the case against main accused of infamous Bhagalpur riot of 1989 Kameshwar Yadav and ensured conviction to him in the case, he said, adding that Mr Prasad had allowed Kameshwar to move scot free by closing the case against him. (UNI)
