SHILLONG: Christian writers face a big challenge in projecting the significance of spiritualism and in promoting values of life in thischaotic and material world, said Moderator of the Church of North India, Most Rev Dr Purely Lyngdoh.

While stressing on this point at the 1st All India level conference organised by the United Christian Writers’ Association at Institute of Hotel Management here on Saturday, Rev Lyngdoh pointed out that there have been plenty of writings arousing the emotions of the youth in the wrong perspective, misguided them and finally ruining their character.

Rev Lyngdoh said writing has been and is still one of the powerful and effective means of communication despite the introduction of the different modes of technology like the internet or the mobile phone.

“It has the capacity to steer the minds of the people, bring joy and comfort to their life”, added Rev Lyngdoh.“Writing is a gift which can be taught and can be learned”, said Rev Lyngdoh while calling upon the writers to use their gift to render services towards nation building and in bringing a transformation in the life, thoughts and character of the people”, asserted Rev Lyngdoh.
