Los Angeles: Actor Leonardo Dicaprio has urged his fans to support a bill to ban the sale of shark fins in California state.

The actor, who is a passionate animal rights campaigner, previously wrote a letter to officials in support of the bill, which would make it illegal to possess, sell or trade sought-after fins.

DiCaprio has now stepped up efforts for the cause, reports contactmusic.com.

The actor has also called for fans to sign a petition urging world leaders to do more for shark conservation.

In a post on his Twitter page, he wrote: “This is our last shot. Please help.” (IANS)
