London: Transformers’ actor Josh Duhamel helped raised more than USD 1 million for his hometown which was affected by a flood earlier this summer.

The 38-year-old recruited his wife Fergie’s band ‘The Black Eyed Peas’, to do a show in his native Minot after heavy flooding forced 11,000 residents to leave their homes, Contactmusic reported.

About 16,000 fans turned up at the Minot Rising show where singer Fergie gave a shout out to the locals. “This is a beautiful, beautiful vision for us, especially for me because I have family here now… IQt might be small, but it has the biggest heart in America. North Dakota, we love you so much.”

Her bandmate Will.i.am later took to his Twitter page and wrote, “Thank you for you passion, determination, and vision to do good, and ability to bring people together for a good cause… Had a concert in Dakota and raised 1 million dollars for Minot flood recovery.” (PTI)
