SHILLONG: After the brawl between the NEHU students and miscreants at NEHU football ground recently it is alleged the students of B Tech, NEHU, thrashed young local boys leaving two injured here on Sunday.

The local boys from Mawlai Kynton Massar were injured after they were beaten up by some NEHU students in the same football field where the last incident took place.

According to the police, around 10 to 11 boys were playing football at the ground located at NEHU campus when a group of students of the B Tech department came over and asked the boys to vacate the field leading to an argument thereby invoking the other students to get involved scaring the young boys who fled the scene and sustained minor injuries from falling.

However, the HNYF Mawlai Circle has alleged that the young local boys were injured not because of falling but because of thrashing.

Further, police informed that after the incident, a meeting was held between the NEHU authority and the Dorbar Shnong Mawlai Kynton Massar, Seng Longkmie and the Seng Khasi at NEHU Conference Hall here on Monday where they resolved that the football field will be banned from being used by either the students or local boys for a month until the matter is solved.
