The news item “44 migrant workers nabbed” (ST Sep 4, 2011) was based on a report given by the Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) which actually apprehended the migrant workers and handed them over to the Cantonment Beat House. One of the workers said that as far as he knew he was going to be working for one Nehlang a resident of Shillong and Rymbai. There was no reference to Nehlang Lyngdoh the MLA in our report. Meanwhile, it is learnt from Police sources that all the 44 migrant workers had been pushed out of Meghalaya.
