Drug peddlars held

 JOWAI: The Khasi Students Union (KSU) Khliehriat Circle and All Jaintia Youth Welfare Organisation (AJYWO) East Jaintia Zone in a joint operation apprehended Marwill Biam of Loompariat Jowai for allegedly supplying drugs to some youths in Jaintia Hills District on Wednesday.

Sources informed that Biam came in a local taxi to Ladrymbai and members of the two NGOs caught him red handed along with some drug users who came to buy the stuff from him.

KSU and AJYWO activistsalso seized about 10 grams of powder suspected to be herion from his possession.

Later Marwill and along with some of his customers were handed over to Ladrymbai police for further interrogation.
