Witherspoon hit by a car
Los Angeles: Actress Reese Witherspoon suffered minor injuries after she was hit by a car while jogging. She is resting at home. According to the police reports, the actress was running in Santa Monica, California, Wednesday when she was hit by a vehicle motoring along at approximately 20 miles per hour. She was taken in an ambulance to a nearby hospital where she received treatment for minor injuries. “The actress was not seriously injured and is resting comfortably at home,” contactmusic.com quoted Witherspoon’s representative as saying. London: Hollywood actor Pierce Brosnan feels his good looks have hindered his acting career. “I have tried to use my looks as well as I can. But they have also cost me jobs. Sometimes they work for me, sometimes they don’t,” express.co.uk quoted Brosnan as saying.The 58-year-old has appeared in movies like Love Affair and in the James Bond series.
Neil Diamond to wed third time
Los Angeles: Singer Neil Diamond says he is engaged to co-manager Katie McNeil. “Good news coming from sunny LA (Los Angeles)/and you’re the first I want to tell/Katie and I just got engaged/and I hope you wish us well,” Diamond wrote on his Twitter page. This is Diamond’s third marriage. He was previously married to high school girlfriend Jayne Posner. The two divorced after six years in 1969. They have two children, reports usmagazine.com. Diamond then tied the knot with production assistant Marcia Murphey. They also had two children together. After 26 years of marriage, Diamond and Murphey split in 1995. (IANS)
Paul McCartney is a grandfather again
London: Beatles legend Paul McCartney is a grandfather again as his daughter Mary gave birth to a son. Her husband, writer/director Simon Aboud, announced the happy news on his Twitter page, reported Contactmusic. “Thanks to my amazing wife, our beautiful son Sid arrived safe and sound on Saturday to join our wonderful gang,” he wrote on Twitter. Aboud also tweeted a photo of their newborn dozing peacefully in bed. The proud parents, who wed last year, already have a three-year-old son, while Mary also has two sons from her first marriage to TV producer Alistair Donald. Little Sid makes McCartney the grandfather to eight, his fashion designer daughter Stella also has four children. (PTI)
Gerardo Ortiz releases new album
Miami: Mexican singer Gerardo Ortiz, the most frequently-nominated artist at the Billboard Mexican Music Awards, has hit the market with his new album “Entre Dios y el Diablo”. Ortiz, who has garnered 10 nominations at the first edition of the awards recognizing Mexican musical talent, has already released the first single from the album, “Aquiles Afirmo”. “Entre Dios y el Diablo” will be available in two formats: the original version with 12 songs and a “deluxe” edition that includes a second album with nine additional numbers.
