SHILLONG: Following the college teachers and non-teaching employees, now the Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) workers have demanded for immediate release of arrears and salaries pending for the last three months.

MTC Workers’ Union secretary K Rumong on Thursday said, “The Government employees have received half of their arrears but we haven’t got even a single paisa as arrears.”

“We have not received our salaries since the last three months. We are not even getting the Dearness Allowance of nine per cent,” Rumong alleged.

The Union would wait for 10-15 days before sitting for their next meeting to decide on the future course of action if the State Government failed to respond to their demands, Rumong informed.
