Imphal: In view of the economic blockades launched by some organisations, Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh held a high-level meeting with ministers and senior officials to review the law and order situation, officials said on Friday.

The meeting, which was held on Thursday, discussed the ongoing economic blockades on national highways and burning of vehicles, loaded with essential items, by the supporters of some organisations demanding conversion of Sadar Hills in Senapati district into a full-fledged revenue district, they said.

The meeting also discussed about ways to prevent spiralling prices of essential items due to economic blockade, they said. Petrol and other petroleum products were not available on regular basis at petrol pumps as it is being given on rotation to selected ones, they said. (PTI)
