NONGSTOIN: The Nongstoin College Week concluded here on Friday. The programme was attended by college students, special invitees and members of Nongstoin Youth Welfare Organization (NYWO) which indeed is the founding fathers of the lone full-fledged college in the entire West Khasi Hills District.

ADC, Nongstoin W. Nongsiej who was the chief guest on the occasion lauded the efforts of the principal, teachers and staffs of the college for their contribution in imparting quality education to the new generation.

President of NYWO J.S Dhakhar recollected his memories way back in the year 1977 wherein the members contributed money ranging from 25 paisa to rupee one as per their capacity.

He also urged upon the students to refrain from dirty politics and work for the development of Nongstoin town.

College Principal B.K Laitflang reminded the students of the untiring efforts of the NYWO in bringing quality education to West Khasi Hills.
