SHILLONG: Around fifteen master trainers, trained in farm practices, disease control and livestock management were felicitated by the Deputy Commissioner, East Garo Hills, Pravin Bakshi at Williamnagar Circuit House on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner stressed that livestock rearing has high potential in East Garo Hills District and creating manpower and building their capacity will enable the rural community at the grass roots to undertake various livestock activities and can become successful entrepreneurs and improve their livelihood.The Deputy Commissioner also handed over the master trainer’s vaccine carrier boxes and basic veterinary First Aid kits as part of the capacity building program in Livestock, Disease Control and Treatment.
The training divided in two phases was organised by Meghalaya Rural Development Society-Livelihood Improvement Finance Company of Meghalaya, District Management Unit, East Garo Hills District in collaboration with District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, East Garo Hills District.
