Patna: The BJP on Saturday predicted that the life of Congress led UPA government at the Centre was very short and it would collapse under its own weight due to widening rift among its allies and several burning issues giving sleepless nights to the Manmohan Singh government.

BJP National spokesperson Rajeev Pratap Rudi told mediapersons here that the life of the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre was very short and it would collapse any time due to increasing differences among its allies on several issues.

Trinamool Congress and DMK had now started maintaining distance with the Congress and other allies were also likely to follow the suit, he added.

”It is common wisdom that no one is interested to board on sinking ship and the Congress-led UPA government is certainly sinking in deep sea of corruption,” the BJP spokesperson said and added that several allies of the UPA were toying with the idea of withdrawing support from the government.

Rudi said it was now certain that allies of Congress in UPA would snap its ties any time from the Congress but they were waiting for an appropriate moment.

It was really important to ponder over the suggestion of veteran crusader Anna Hazare who advised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to resign from the post to prove his integrity in the given situation, he pointed out.

The BJP leader said the recent development, a note sent to Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) from the Finance Ministry suggesting that mega scam in allotment of 2G spectrum, could have been avoided, had the then finance minister P Chidambaram acted in a responsible manner.

Such facts reflected that former Union telecommunication minister A Raja was not the only person behind the 2G spectrum scam, he said, adding that several top personalities, including P Chidambaram could not claim to be clean enough in the entire episode.

Mr Rudi said the PMO had also come under the scanner following the note sent by finance ministry in this regard.

Congress was already being dubbed as party having no concern for the masses as prices of essential commodities had increased to alarming level, he said, adding that the nation was agog with temperament to oust the Congress-led UPA government which was neck deep in corruption.

The BJP leader said the erstwhile Vajpayee government had succeeded in providing good governance with clean administration from top to bottom which had given succour to the masses presently reeling under spate of corruption.

The BJP ruled States had also been able to provide good governance but the same was missing under the present dispensation at the Centre, he remarked.

Referring to the Rath Yatra of senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani against corruption, Mr Rudi said the veteran leader would arrive in Patna on October 11, the birth anniversary of veteran socialist Jai Prakash Narain.

Mr Advani would go to Sitab Diara on the same day by helicopter and offer tribute to Jai Prakash Narain there on his birth anniversary.

Mr Advani would begin Rath Yatra against corruption after paying tribute to veteran socialist leader Jai Prakash Narain on October 11.

He would address a public meeting at Chhapra and also address a meeting at historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna on same day, the BJP leader said. (UNI)
