TURA: A magisterial court in Tura has issued an arrest warrant against the Muslim Maulvi cum tantrik of Mankachar town in Assam for his complicity in the human sacrifice of an innocent seven year old Krishna Singh on October 6th inside Praharinagar campus of 121 battalion of the BSF in Tura. At the same time, arrested constable Babu Khan of 162 battalion has been remanded to five days police custody by the district court for alleged complicity in the murder.
The situation has become further complicated with the Central Puja Committee in Shillong raising concern over the dastardly and inhuman case of human sacrifice and pointing out that the accused tantric was working at the behest of Pakistan’s Inter-Services-Intelligence (ISI) network to disrupt the country’s security apparatus.
The court of first class magistrate in Tura issued the arrest warrant against the godman Lukman Haqib based on the evidence unearthed during the police investigation.
“There is prima facie evidence against the tantrik and we are convinced of the need to bring him in for interrogation. We are seeking the help of Assam police to get to the bottom of the matter,” said Meghalaya Inspector General of Police (IGP) GHP Raju who is supervising the investigation.
A special team of Meghalaya police is heading for Mankachar town this morning with the court order of arrest to bring back the tantric for interrogation.
Certain sections of the people and their leaders in Mankachar have been trying to add a communal color to the gruesome incident by gathering mobs of people and refusing to allow the the tantrik for interrogation. There are allegations of complicity in the tantrik’s denial of arrest by the sitting AIUDF MLA of Mankachar.
In Shillong, the Central Puja Committee has reportedly asked the Meghalaya Home Minister to ensure that the government seriously look into the matter of security of the nation. There is apprehension that the Tantrik may have been working at the behest of the ISI of Pakistan by giving details of the paramilitary force deployment all along the border with neighbouring Bangladesh.
The poor security apparatus of the BSF may have ultimately given adequate detail for the Pakistani spies to infiltrate India’s border guards thereby seriously jeopardizing the security of the nation.
