Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt to visit Nagaland on Oct 15

KOHIMA:Noted maestro and Grammy award winner Pundit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt will be the Chief Guest in the grand finale of the Rockaware contest to be held at the Dimapur District Sports Complex at Dimapur on October 15 next.

Addressing a press conference at Kohima today Nagaland Commissioner and Secretary for Health and Family Welfare Menukhol John told reporters that Pundit Bhatt has confirm his visit to Nagaland and he will take only his travel expenses to Dimapur.

He said that altogether 14 bands will take part in the grand finale of the Rockaware, where first prize winners of all the eleven districts of Nagaland and special performances would be offered by Alo Wanth Band, UFR Free Style and Melodrama.

Roacaware, which is being organized by the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) under Multi Media Campaign (MMC) with Music Task Force as the Chief Patron and Legislators Forum on AIDS as Chief Event Partner and sponsored the prizes in the district level, along with event partners to create awareness on HIV/AIDS through sports, music, festival and other entertaining events. Dr Nandira Chankija, Project Director of NSACS, who was present in the press conference, said that MMC has become a successful campaign in creating awareness on HIV/AIDS as a huge number of youths crowded in the district level contests, who are the actual target of the MMC. G Chishi, Project Director of Music Task Force, expressed happiness over the participation of the youths in all the eleven district headquarters and the opportunity offered to the young talents to show themselves in this platforms.(UNI)
