Combine annual training camp of NCC

 SHILLONG: A Combine Annual Training Camp, 2011 of NCC Group HQ, Shillong will be organized by 61 Meghalaya Girls BN NCC, Shillong at Umroi Cantonment from Oct 15-24 and is expected to be attended by 500 to 600 cadets from all districts of Meghalaya.

The aim and objective of the camp is to inculcate values of discipline, dutifulness, personality, orderliness and smartness, develop comradeship, team spirit, leadership, development of character, self reliance and to inculcate the spirit of social work.

The Camp is also planned to enable and to prepare the cadets to appear for various Certificate Examination of NCC.

The various trainings to be covered during the camp are drill, firing, weapon demo, obstacles course, physical and self defence training, trekking, health and hygiene, general awareness, social service, environment conservation, disaster management, armed forces and career counseling.

National Cadet Corps is a systematized organization dedicated to train youths of the nation and to create a human resource of organized specialized and trained man power to provide leadership in all walks of life.

In pursuance, to achieve the aim, it becomes necessary to develop the fine qualities of character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular belief and outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and ideals of selfless service of the youth.

 Moreover with the cadets drawn from different and diverse background is exposed to different culture thereby achieving national integration and brotherhood,” said Lt Col BS Bisht, Commanding Officer, 61 Meghalaya Girls BN NCC.

He further said, “NCC is the right organization for providing tremendous opportunities to the youth of the country to participate in different types of activities and training organized by this organization.

A confidence building factor resulting in great sense of achievement and pride subscribe to the personality development of the youth and prepares them to undertake challenges of life.”
