London: Pop sensation Lady Gaga has been granted an injunction against an online animated character which performs the pop superstar’s tracks via a children’s social network site.

‘Lady Goo Goo’ became a big hit with kids after the music video called ‘The Moshi Dance’, which appeared on YouTube, Daily Express reported.

Bosses at the MoshiMonsters.com company behind the character had planned to release the track through iTunes, but Gaga’s legal team took offence and filed suit in a bid to prevent the cartoon creators using her songs.

On October 10 a judge at London’s High Court ordered Mind Candy, Moshi Monsters’ British parent company, to stop all use of Gaga’s songs or parodies and ruled they could not be sold, according to the Guardian.

The injunction states that the company is banned from “promoting, advertising, selling, distributing or otherwise making available to the public The Moshi Dance or any musical work or video that purports to be performed by a character by the name of Lady Goo Goo, or that otherwise uses the name Lady Goo Goo or any variant thereon.” (PTI)
